First matters: I was released from the bondage of restriction (<--redundant) at my dad's. Which is here. I was slightly sour to find out today that I had actually been officially released for a day or two already. IF YOU'RE LETTING ME OFF, DON'T JUST SAY YOU'RE "THINKING ABOUT IT", DAMMIT! >_<
Anyways, I should get right into what happened when I first arrived at my dad's house, on the same day as my last entry...

Apparently, my great grandmother, referred within the family as Grandma Green, had slipped and fell that same day, and had to be taken to the hospital. (Don't laugh, the poor woman's 91 years old.) Nothing had been broken, but she had a number of non-breaking-related injuries that I can't quite recall at the moment. So, when she was released, completely unable to walk without assistance at the moment, my stepmom drove her here to stay until she got better, arriving at the same time my dad pulled in with me after picking me up. She went to bed right away, and things were fairly uneventful that night, as well as the next day; she had to be helped around the house, and was still not allowed to walk without assistance. However, the next night is when the problems arose. She would constantly awaken during the night, every hour I'm told, though I didn't keep track myself, either half-dreaming or hallucinating. She'd be constantly babbling about things that none of us could quite understand; the stories are slightly too numerous to recount here. I'm told that she didn't completely go to sleep the next two nights until around 6:00 in the morning. On the third day, she was gotten up at 11:00 in the morning, and my dad was determined to keep her awake in order to avoid such a night again. However, after about half of a bowl of cereal and half of a cup of tea, she nodded off again. She wasn't dead, no, to the best of my knowledge she's still alive, but we couldn't for the life of us get her to wake up for more than a second or so, perhaps coupled with a few mumbled, incoherent words, before nodding off again. (I'm talking vaccuming right next to her, radio cranked, the works.) Eventually, we called my grandmother here, and she talked to her for a little bit, getting little results, yet much more than we had managed as yet. It was her opinion that she'd had a stroke, so we called an ambulance, and the paramedics concurred. So, they took her off to the hospital, where she's been now for the rest of the day and all of today. My dad and stepmom checked in this morning, and her condition has apparently improved; she's awake now, but still mostly incoherent, though she's making visible attempts at making sense. I'm sure that we would have been called by now if her condition had significantly worsened, but the elephant-in-the-room is that it may not be long. I suppose that I didn't really know her that well, as I haven't seen her that often (moreso within the last year, though), but that doesn't exclude me from concern. I'm just hoping that she goes pleasantly. -_-

In other news, I hate the computer here. First, I'm not allowed to change the resolution on the monitor because it makes the computer run a miniscule amount slower. At the consequence of rendering 50% of the sites on the internet completely incoherent. So, here it is, at the 640x480 resolution that I would swear hasn't been used since the stone age. And, to add to that, the equally ancient monitor is apparently acting up today... because right now, everything on the screen is tinted a slight, yet still annoying, shade of blue. Occasionally flickering for a few seconds back to normal colors.
And, on another note, I finally finished that horrible insult to school-assigned reading, The Grapes of Wrath, late last night. OK, maybe I'm being a little harsh, but the thing just didn't catch my interest. At all. And picking it up and reading it was an even more herculean feat of willpower after having bought the much more interesting "Wicked".
Which, by the way, I finished today. It really is a strange book; no matter what you hear on the net, it's not based entirely on the book or the movie, but a wierd medium between the two. That's not to say it's a bad book, on the contrary, it's excellent. Finishing it gave me that same wierd feeling that I got when I finished Nuklear Age... Not sure exactly what to think; It just made my brain work so much thinking about unanswered questions and all sorts of matters that the book brought to my attention, that I seriously felt like going to sleep right there. It's only really good books that can do that to me. :p
And, as a final note, I've recieved word that the game arrived. Now it's just a matter of time, and I'll finally have it! ^^
