So... today I was suspected of cheating.

There was a test in Chemistry today, and I realized that I'd completely blanked on the conversion formula between Fahrenheit and Celsius. (My first mistake.) So, I remembered a few key spots; 0C = 32F, 100C = 212F. Then I tried to recall back to my days in Math 102, where we'd learned how to use our calculators to do linear regressions. I couldn't, however, for the life of me remember how to do them, so I was playing around with the functions trying to find it. At one point, the professor was walking around keeping an eye on the students, and I realized that me playing around with the functions on my graphing calculator might look a bit suspicious-- so when he walked past me, I turned my calculator over and put it face-down on my desk. (My second mistake.) So, after that, I'm screwing around with Tables, still looking for the Linear Regression function, and he practically sneaks up behind me, and sees me in the Table Setup menu. So he gives me a standard Scientific calculator and tells me I need to use that instead, and confiscates my graphing calculator for the rest of the period.

So, I finish up the test with that-- skipping the temperature conversions, of course-- and hand in my test at the end of the period. I return his calculator, and he tells me that he's pretty sure something is up. He tells me about how he saw me turning my calculator over, and then caught me in the Table Setup menu, and says he needs to search my calculator to see if I'd stored any information on it to cheat with. Now, here I'm standing, flushed and stuttering, not at all looking like the accused innocent that I really am. So, I give him a (somewhat stilted) explanation of how I'd forgotten the formula and was trying to do a linear regression to get it back. He tells me that he was choosing to believe me, and that there weren't going to be any consequences; but I still got the feeling that he's a bit suspicious of me now. (I haven't made a very good impression even before this ordeal. >>;)

So, yeah. Bit shaken up by all that. X-x

(EDIT: Oh yeah, and none of this is helped by the fact that I figured out on the bus ride home that I could have just done a little bit of simple algebra to get the formula. >_<)

Well, he sounds like a bit of an ass. Eventually you'll be out of the class.

If you'd seen it, you'd know that he really did have legitimate reason to be suspicious. I was just a bit shocked, that's all. >>'

Oh, I was reading that. It's still a bit Ass-like, as if you've already been judged before you get the chance to prove yourself.

...What's the formula for it?

I've done it before, but haven't even used it ONCE since I got out of that one math class, so...I don't even freakin remember it. XD

P.S.

I had a math test today! Huh, today must be the day for tests. D:

I forgot how you do -1/2 the square root of x + 3 then add 5 ( so +5 OUTSIDE of the square root, +3 inside)

I knew how to do all of it except the -1/2 x-x

P.S. #2:

That's a graphing problem in the original P.S., btw. XD So... yeah.

uhm... I think C = (F - 32) x 1.8. Which would mean that F = (C / 1.8) + 32, I believe.

So, if we said that F was 13 degrees, C would be -10.6? D: (the calc says it like -10.5555555555555555556, so I'm just rounding it up. xD)
