A lot of people on the internets are complaining about it, but I think nostalgia is blinding them to the fact that the new face of the Spyro series is a HUGE FUCKING IMPROVEMENT. LIKE SERIOUS.
Yeah, Ripto's Rage was the only Spyro game I ever owned or played. Except for the Spyro 1 demo I played on one of those spiteful Playstation Demo Discs.
I loved it when I was younger, but playing it again now... it kinda sucks in every possible aspect. Repetitive gameplay, unimaginative story, bad voice acting. I love the new face of the series to death.
It seems that The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning was a Reboot for the series, i.e. they completely discarded all existing canon and started the story from scratch. I like what they did with it.
