So I downloaded the demo for RosenkreuzStilette: Freudenstachel.

The .RAR archive contained a .bin file and a .cue file. Nothing else of note.

All sources seem to assume that anyone downloading the game will simply know what to do with these files.

I do not.

Anyone knowledgeable?

Those are CD image files. If you get a virtual drive, like Daemon tools, you can mount the .bin file and install like normal.

Or you can get PowerISO and burn the .bin file to a disc.

I say the bin file, because it's the file that has all of the information on how to actually use the .cue file, which is where all of the data for the game is stored.
