So I noticed today that I typoed my email address on my application to UW. The one that I've been going insane over the fact that I haven't heard back about in several months.

Aaaarrrrgggggh. What if they've tried to email me about something important!?

I alerted them to the error and the site says the database generally takes 2-3 days to update.

Fuuuuck I hope this doesn't hurt my chances of getting in.

EDIT: Wait a minute I can't have typoed it. It was handwritten.

Transcription error?

It's possible. They're usually transcribed by people reading the applications. You've done about all you can do, but I'd suggest getting in contact with admissions once you have the right e-mail up and asking if you've missed any correspondence from them because of the typo.

Usually, though, anything official (acceptance, etc.) will be done through snail mail.

Last time I tried applying, I got notification of an error on my application via email. That's why I'm worried.

Like I said, get in contact with them. Call up admissions if you have to. Make sure you haven't missed anything or if you have that you can get what you missed. Usually, though, official correspondence like acceptance and financial aid and all that is done through traditional mail.
